Default Buds on trees

So this last week we were cutting trees at work for a road project this spring and one was a soft maple and it was full of buds already, now this can not be a good sign for the upcoming season?

Grease,
Red maples will always have much bigger buds than sugarmaples. The buds pop on the trees according to sun light not tempeture. I beleive your trees will be fine.

I agree it might not be good, my softs in the front yard budded out at the end of the warm spell. I tapped one 2 weeks ago just for the heck of it and it ran really good with sugar at 1.4%. Guess we'll find out for sure in a few weeks.
