Default Tapping

Put in 24 taps yesterday and got 15 gals. Not bad for the first day. Put in 76 taps today and all were running well. Will see what tomorrow brings.

Put in three test taps yesterday near Rhinelander and nothing yet. Still need to finish my arch and solder up my pan so I'm not complaining...
2010 - 1 tap
2011 - 6 taps, 2 steam pans [4 gph]
2012 - 32 taps, 5 steam pans (1 with drop tubes) [10 gph], longer block arch, lean to sugar shack.
2013 - 43 taps, 5 steam pans (3 with drop tubes) [18 gph], block arch, lean to sugar shack.
2014/15 - 0 taps, moved to new area, too much to do.
2016 - 50 taps, temporary/crappy/cobbled together block arch, 4 steam pans (3 with drop tubes) [10gph], no roof, no lights, pallet wood.
2017 - Better have a sugar shack.....

Thinking that I might tap by the end of next weekend, but even that just seems so early. The only reason I'm considering it is because most of my taps are on brand new tubing with vacuum this year. I probably won't hang my buckets until mid March.

I still have a few things to check off my list before I can start collecting, and then a few more again before I can cook. Gotta keep plugging away at it.
