Default Winter Institute

Is anybody planning on going to the WMSPA Winter Institute on Jan 21 in Neillsville? I've never attended before. What kind of activities/information do they provide at the Winter Institute?

I will also be going for the first time. I always wanted to in the past but, it never worked out. There will be 3 speakers.Bradley Gillian from Leader talking about tubing. Jim Warren from the DNR talking about our maple woods. And Mark Paulat and albert Romportl They will be talking about accessing a sugarbush, What classifies it as agriculture. There are some vendors with there equipment. And we will find out who our new Wisconsin Maple Queen is. There is also a workshop setup for the women to do some scrapbooking while we talk maple

Hello Maple connection, I too have thought about going. How did you find out the speakers and topics? I checked on the site, and all I see is stuff from last years presentations.

Everyone will have to fill me in on how the maple institute goes. I will be sitting in the sand on a nice warm beach

There will also be round table discussions on various maple production subjects (from making syrup for the beginner to tubing and vacuum techniques) in the afternoon. Last year's institute was attended by 120 plus maple producers, many who have 30 plus years experience making syrup. Just talking with the producers in attendance, is well worth attending the institute!

As warm as it was today, the south side of superior was probably pretty warm.
I think the Virgin Islands will be pretty warm.
