Went to the bush at noon today to drop off supplies for setting up our dumping stations so I checked to see if the sap was running. Yes, it was running about 1 drip every 2 -4 seconds. Some bags had 4" but most had less than that. Poured some sap in a cup and tested the sugar content and then drank the refreshing sweet water. It tested at 2 1/2 %. It's supposed to be sunny and warmer tomorrow so we may be collecting tomorrow and boiling Sat. Will keep you updated.

Finished tapping yesterday and have 136 total. The gravity line I put up a week ago has the line full of sap but that is it. It was still iced up today and the bags in the woods trees are still dry. hopefully it will open up this weekend.

Got a few done today and with Jim and Angela coming up with a few others hope to finish up the woods on Sat. Man walking the woods in snow shoes 60 days after my last knee is a work out. Im very happy with the timing of the knees and all the work I have done and plan on doing.

We got 550 sacks up today. Most were running good by 11am and had 1/3-1/2 gallon in them when we left. Need to get another 600 or so up but that may have to wait until after the weekend rain storm. I figure full tanks will make the shack get done faster. Still a heavy snow pack in the woods. My new motto- snow is good for sappin, but not for tappin!

You're not done with your arch or your shack? You better get Haynes and Schumacher to come and help you.
