Default Tension grips

I see that CDL sells what they call a open tension grip. Would that be used on a maineline that you can't side the grip over the end?

Yes. It laces together on the side allowing you to wrap it around the pipe .

Phone company's have been using them for years to pull cables into under ground conduit systems. I have used them many time, they work great!

CDL also makes a stainless end that plugs off the mainline and has a loop welded to it that works very well. i have used them, but I think they only come in 1" at least as far as I have seen.
