Default Cost effectiveness of 3/16

We've been slowly converting to all 3/16 and were working in the woods yesterday...needless to say it was a bit chilly! My dad made an interesting observation - by installing all 3/16 and using, at times, quite a bit of tubing to gain 30 feet of fall, at what point does it become more cost effective to go to mechanical vacuum? The thought is that eventually all this tubing would need replaced. But if you install a mainline once and then traditional 5/16 laterals and go with even a guzzler, would the short term cost outweigh the long term cost.

Just a thought on a cold Sunday morning !
