Default Tubing Connectors

Has anyone tried using the cam-lock hose connectors on vacuum tubing? Just wondering if they seal well enough for a vacuum system? If anyhone has tried them or is using them I would appreciate your input. Thanks

We use both and they work just fine - as long as you don't lose the rubber gasket!

I use them for road crossing and they work fine. You can plug them to keep out critters and dont tighten them up all the way so the rubber stays tight.

I have found that you should not mix manufacturers of these. They don't seem to all be created equal. In other words male/female, same maker.

Anyone have a good source for 1" and 3/4" stainless cam locks? The aluminum and poly fittings inside diameter is reduced to much. I'm looking for a quick disconnect without the inside diameter being reduced so much. any help is appreciated!

Among other choices try this:
http://www.camlockdirect.com/stainless-steel
Here's what I like better for syrup and vacuum:
https://www.brewershardware.com/Sanitary-Fittings/
I've converted lots of my fittings both in the sugarhouse and a few in the woods to those later ones. They are a very smooth SS and the ID is not reduced as long as you get a same size pair. You can also connect 2 sizes as long as the flange is the same. I keep spare gaskets on hand just in case. Generally you just need to properly tighten the clamp.
