Many in this forum (and "the other one too") have my manual. A long time ago I typed up the original manual going from the original hand written one and then I offered it to anyone interested. I have since emailed a copy to at least 50 others, maybe even 100+. I've even sent a few to producers who have made their own RO, in case it might help them.
I just (after reading your post) updated my manual to specify not to leave the acid in the wash tank, but rather to drain it and rinse with water. If you or any one is interested in a copy, just PM me your email, I will then email you the manual I have. I keep my copy in the sugar house in a dedicated binder. Each page is in a plastic page protector, each page is numbered and I even have a table of contents to help you get to the right page fast.

I also have one of Rays RO's and my instructions say nothing about draining the tanks or lines. I do leave the wash tank empty in the off season but have never drained the lines. Is this something that is recommended?

I unfortunately also left the preservative in the system as nowhere does it say to drain it and I never looked at the make up of the preservative. Spent hours today soaking the insides of the feed pump and cleaning it. Next I need to pull the membranes and circulate everything to make sure there is no further crude it it.

Are you guys not pulling the membranes and inspecting them at the end of the season and instead just using the preservative and pumping it thru ? Carl Lapierre had some interesting pictures of what can happen to membranes at his ro class at Verona this year. He highly recommended inspecting the membranes for obvious reasons .

I always pull mine , inspect and just store in a 4 " pvc homemade housings in the basement with preservative .

So I am putting my RO to bed for the season and am wondering what others are doing with Rays RO's for off season storage. I currently am doing an acid soak and then it will be ready for preservative. How do you drain the preservative out of the pump but still leave it in the membrane? I have followed Rays instructions exactly each year and don't seem to be having a problem yet but.... Recommendations welcome!

This morning I further updated the Deer Run Instruction manual to help reduce some of the confusion. I invite anyone interested to send me an email to: dave@cnymaple.com and I will send you a copy. This includes those who got one from me already, anytime before today, 8/31/2018. The document is in MS Word, you must be able to read that.
