Default Suggestions for a new feed pump?

My current feed pump (1 hp) is not stock, it was added on by prior RO owner. It's a great magnetic pump, but is designed as a low pressure pump, it will only build a max of 20 psi. The problem is, the RO is set up so that the pumps will only stay on if the low pressure pump is at or above 15 psi and will shut off if it drops below 20 psi. So, I'm right on the edge - it's often a pain to get the pump to engage and stay on, especially when the pressure begins to drop due to a clogging filter.

So, I'm looking to replace the pump with a higher head/psi pump, but the SS centrifugal ones I'm seeing are crazy expensive, $900+, even on ebay.

Anyone have a recommendation? Any reason why I can't use a $125 SS shallow well pump or SS water irrigation pump used for lawn sprinkler systems?

Current pump is wired 240 V. RO is a 240gph unit, so probably only need flow of 6 gpm.

I used a convertable shallow well/jet pump I got from the Gnome Depot...was $150 or so. The low pressure cut-out switch on my RO has been disabled so I don't know if that would be an issue.

Maybe something like this?

http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...1411_200311411

These inexpensive ones always mention a SS housing, but don't know if the shaft and impeller are SS as well? On the more expensive ones, the specs always detail each item as SS.

heres the performance curve for this pump:
http://waynepumps.com/images/pdf/Spec/PLS100.pdf
as per the curve, you need 6 gpm=360 gph
at this volume the pump deliver 120 ft head, 51.6 psi for water, divided by specific gravity of the fluid you feed.

problem is the data in table doesnt fit with the curve?
