Default Test run RO with water.

Can I test run the RO with water and not have to clean the Membrain after? Just drain the water out of it.

Yes, just make sure it is soft water that is chlorine free. But you will need to put your membranes in storage solution when you're done.

How about buying ROed water at store? Only 5 gals needed for a Deer Run 125 wash cycle. So maybe $5-$7 just to practice with?

Store water has minerals added back to it so that it doesn't deplete your body. Or they use membranes that allow salts to pass.

That was what I though about last night. Not much for distilled water either.

Why a test run? What are your concerns?

Schiefe4,,,,,,,,, Would you buy a new car without taking it for a test drive??????? Now probably you have been in a car and or already know how to drive one. I have only seen pictures,,,,, a few videos,,,,,, and had not even talked to someone about ROs that owned one. The closest ROs around that I had been told about are 2-3 hours away and I don't know who their names. I have tried reading all I can on the internet, but without actually placing hands on one and see one run everything is Greek.

So the day I picked up my RO was my first time seeing a RO,,, touching a RO,,,, or seeing an RO run. I got a very quick 15 minute demonstration and I was on the road starting a 11 hours trip back.

Less than 30 miles south of me start the cotton fields. Now I challenge you to come down here, take a 15 minute demonstration and then crawl up in a $600,000 - $700,000,,,, Yes I typed thousands,,,,,, cotton picker- baler and take it out in the field without testing it first.....

Now if you would like to drive all the way down here when my first sap run comes and walk me thru the first 2-3 days of sap,,,,, end of day clean up,,,,,, what to do when flow starts to slow down and run me thru my RO runs.

These are pretty fair points from sugarbush ridge. Seems I have a little better local support when I make my purchase so for me a test run would be to test my plumbing and wiring skills before I depend on the machine during maple season when support is scarce.
