Default RO report

I got my cleaning report for my membrane for this season. My Permeate floe went from 7.2 in 2014 to 7.9 and the performance went from 120% to 132%. I did rince often as usual and washed with soap every day. I also concentrated to 16% I don't check the PH because I wouldn't know what to do with the information.

I was told that rinsing is the key to keeping it running at its best and Ill second that. Having large permeate storage is the key...............Plus having auto shut down helps free up the mind.

our cost to do our Mark E8 from Lapierre yearly costs between $170-$180 can't remember the exact figures. Whats nice is like Haynes touched on is you get your flow reports back and keep the factory warranty. It may be different for different manufacturers

Its $210.00 I believe. Its the best way to keep it current and they store it until next year. I really treat it like a rented car and every year it comes back with better numbers than before.

Buy a new membrane for $ 600 to $ 700, why not just buy a new membrane every 3 years and keep a couple extra if one tears up. Not sure I could justify paying that much to clean it when membranes are as cheap as they are.

Sounds like your advocating letting the membrane self destruct over time from poor service. I consider it the cost of doing business. My RO saves me $5000.00 in fuel costs and 8hr's per day in labor. Paying $210.00 to keep it running like brand new is fine with me.

If your flow rates are increasing every year.. you should be watching for sugar passing. Only way to increase flow from new is to make the holes bigger.

as for the rental car.. burn the tread off the tires it will get better traction on the track, but not on snow.

My membrane was 2 years old when I got it so over the last 3 years of my use and cleaning it the flow numbers have increased not past what would be NEW. My permeate is at Zero according to my refractometer so I'm confident that my membrane is OK.
