Default PH for cleaning

I have a XLE 4040 membrane and spoke with DOW and they tell me to clean the membrane between 3-5 PH. I've spoken with others and they are cleaning with soap around a PH level around 10. Can anyone give me a correct cleaning PH level. Thanks

PH 2 is an acid wash while a PH 10 is a soap wash hope this helps. I do the acid wash if the soap wash doesnt bring my membrane back to my specs and also at the end of the season. Im sure there is many different ways of doing this and R/O owners will chime in

i reread your post and i see you stated PH 3/5 and 5 isnt very much wash as PH7 is neutral

Well a ph of 5 is actually much more acidic than a ph of 6, remember for every change in the ph scale of 1 it represents a 10 fold change in acidity.

11 must be the magic number to wash the membrane. Thanks for your help.
