I'm happy that we dodged the snow bullet last night, I looked out this morning and saw only a couple of cm so I cleaned up the sugar shack instead getting the pans all shiny and digging out a couple of pairs of knee high socks out of the stove, they weren't the wives and the closest house is a 1000 ft away. I'm kind of thinking the chimney is packed tight again this year. Last year I started up the fire and got totally smoked out. Two buckets of nest crap later it was drafting up once again.

If I can reopen the road and navigate through the mud, I'll be hanging buckets tomorrow. Today is wash day...should have done that last May (I say that every year)
Good luck everyone!

Beautiful to be able to tap without snowshoes for a change. Hope the low snow cover doesn't shorten the season.
