You bet! My mother used to collect and redeem them. That was how she got some of the appliances she used, and I think our first TV was gotten with green stamps.

I bet If I ask my folks, they could pull out a partially filled book.

I remember that blizzard, but around here the blizzard of 66 was worse by far. The hill my fiancee lived on (now my wife of 50+ years) had drifts so bad a huge old Walter plow kept getting stuck, they couldn't get thru for 4 days. Kept backing up, then ramming it, then often needed a second plow to pull the Walter out of the drift. After 4 days they finally got a single lane thru. The next day they were then able to widen it to a narrow 2 lane. The hill was just over a mile long. At that time the City did not have a BIG loader, now they have 2. The drifts were 12-14' deep in places. and we had 6' of snowfall officially. Oswego, about an hour NW of here had just over 8' in that storm.

I'm ashamed to say I don't. It comes up every so often, and nothing jars my memory enough. There's no reason why not. I was a senior in high school, but I just can't do it to save myself

Remember both. Green stamps and the Blizzard of 78. We didn't have power for several days.
