Default Maple Story Telling

Anyone got some good maple stories that has happened to them? Thought it would be an interesting off season winter blues topic.
This past weekend Dawn did her annual trip to Laundromat to wash the winter bedding and misc big stuff that doesnt fit well in our washing machine. She also despises the fact that I will wash my winter work jacket and bibs in our washer so she decided to take them with her without me knowing this. Well she gets home and says you have any idea how you know you live with a sugarmaker? Ahhhhhh nope tell me......... She says when you take the man of the houses winter work clothes to laundromat and you spend more time pulling tools, electrical tape, fittings, hose clamps, wire ties and a misc. pile of other odd things out of the pockets than actually washing the damn clothes.

That's kinda funny you say that. When I start to notice my Bibs are probably days past a date with the washer, I give in and wash them. I never seem to get the right tools in the right places of my clean bibs I switch to. Silly thing but messed me up yesterday, forgot my knife on the washing machine.

Lol the notorious ash tree, a couple of years ago I was laid up with a busted leg, so a bunch of friends showed up to tap for me, we had a great season tho kinda short and made some syrup despite the broken leg. Well long story short ,I was pulling taps and there it was , a 3 ft lateral tapped into a 5 inch ash tree into the mainline. I took a picture and started calling my "friends" , they all giggled like school girls then finally told me who the tapper was. it was all in good fun .

That was a running bucket joke here for a while. Im not a fan of using them much but its been a family tradition my grandfather started, The bucket brigade as we call them comes and helps hang buckets, my brother started messing with my dad and would tap an odd tree every year just to see what he would say. He did not discriminate either, could be an ash, oak, elm, pine, hemlock and yes even a telephone pole. Its rather weird though how much fun they have hanging buckets and yet never return till the seasons over and they want there syrup they earned for helping.
