Default The time has come!

I'm pulling the plug! Today I told my boss I'm going to retire (from driving school bus, which has been my post retirement job since '98) sometime next month. My wife has been after me to retire for about 3 years now. I'll still do maple and blueberries, might find other things to do too. One thing I've been wanting to give a try, is forging, I might even try making a knife.

Good for you. I am contemplating the same decision. I retired from my career job in 2006, then a few years ago took a part time retirement job in our local Lowes Garden Center. Now I find i work more and more and time is wearing on this body. I been kicking around making this my final season and hanging the employee tag up for good. The job has been a nice supplement to my income and paid for some fun, but it also takes me away from many things I want to do while I'm able. Go do what you want to do when and have a great retirement.

Last Thursday, I handed in a formal letter stating my final day at work will be 6/17/2016. I also got the official ball rolling with the retirement system. Still more to do after Memorial day to have everything set. I have set my Medicare part B to start 6/1/16 and I carry my school medical insurance into retirement as secondary. Prescription drug ins. will remain with the school ins. too.
Now I can't wait, so much I want to do and so much work to get done, both "honey Do" and my projects.
