Default Fun with fire and a camera

So before anyone freaks out, please know I did this on purpose.

I enjoy experimenting with a camera and trying to get unique pictures. This past week during a late night boil, I set up a camera with a delay and a 14 second shutter. Then went inside the shack, opened the arch door, and stoked the fire - this is the result.

Since our season is over, I'm clinging to whatever maple related topics I can!

That's a cool (hot) picture! Looks like lots of sparks there! Hummm?

oh yea, I was stoking like crazy to get lots of sparks!

We had some really nice wood this year and normally it burns clean with very little smoke and sparks.

Very cool.
Another way to do this and get a lot of those lazy embers is to take a bunch of shorter exposure pics and use a photo stacking program to combine them.
It will add all the sparks and keep the light from the windows from being over ezposed.
I fiddle with astrophotography and this is really the best way to get nice bright stars without alot of noise in the photo from long exposures.
