Good thread starter...

Now if only I can reverse the past 2 years misfortune's and see something to put in the freezer...I hope pictures of flatheads are allowed because I'm pretty much pulling the trigger on the first thing that comes into range. Need some meat in the freezer!

since i don't deer hunt, but I do turkey hunt can I post a turkey picture? heck a deer wouldn't even be a challenge since they are feeding right by my patio every evening and morning, and yes I am often sitting there. I sat just a few yards from an 8 point a couple nights ago and had a conversation with the Mrs while the buck just fed and would look our way every once and a while. I do have some friends that bow hunt the farm and they get kind of aggravated after sitting 3 hours in the woods and come out to see 5 to 6 feeding beside my house. No they don't get to hunt in the yard, unless it's a kid who's had some tough luck. It's amazing how conditioned the deer get to where they are safe and where they are not.

Buckeye, do you hunt fall birds? My dad and I hunt them religiously and I'm always baffled by the lack of hunters chasing them. don't get me wrong, I like the woods to myself, but fall hunting for turkeys is a blast if you get into a flock and get them going.

I'm going to vote aye for a "post your turkey pic" thread!

Got out Saturday morning. First day out for the year, pulled out a 1.5 yr old doe. One of my better shots, perfect double lung. Good freezer deer. Kinda lowers the pressure for the rest of the season, I know I won't get skunked.

Always a good feeling...

Don't know about you guys, but putting meat in the freezer that comes from the woods brings out those primitive feelings that I did something good for my family with the creatures the good Lord blessed us with.
