Default It doesn't work...

I had a "Haynes moment" and thought I would try spreading top soil with a snow blower. In theory it should work great. It doesn't. Soil is too compacted for the snow blower to scoop from the pile. Might work spreading sand on a septic filed though.

Bryan, It has been said if pickups had "black boxes" in the cabs. The last words from a 'Redneck's' pickup would be,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, "Watch this"!!!!!!!!!!!

OK boys I need to let you in on a little secret. I did a little experimenting back in 1986 trying to clean up stump grindings with a snow blower and it didn't work. Now Im not talking about a little pile from a rental unit from Home depot. I'm talking about a Vermeer 2460. The pile of chips were 3 ft high X 8 ft around.

I also had a bright idea back in the day that I would suck up stump grindings with a suction unit and blow them into the back of my Iveco dump truck. The first time I tried it was a really hot dry day and I ground out a rotten stump in the middle of a parking lot. I fired up the 10 HP unit and before me and my brother in-law knew it every thing within 500 ft was covered in dust and dirt. I looked in the back of the truck and there was about a 5 gallon bucket of wood chips. We Skedaddled out of there before the air cleared what a dismal idea that was.

Please just PM me if you come up with some hair brained idea I will be honest with you and tell you if I tried it....................Like trying to spin yourself in top loader washing machine standing up.

Chuck, you should write a book about your lifes adventures, there's enough material on SBI to fill it.

this was an entertaining way to spend a few moments reading about failed attempts at rather genius ideas...

for those about to get creative (and don't mind sharing with the masses), I salute you
