Default Startign in East Central Minnesota

Just small time here but tapped 24 trees Saturday, collected 6 gallons sap yesterday. Just starting. Some trees not running at all and others doing better. Earliest I have ever had a drip.

Hey Randy what town are you near? I tapped trees in Ham Lake and near Barnum. Nothing was dripping as of yesterday for me.

5 gallons sap out of the 24 taps last evening. Kind of expecting more tonight as it was at 25 for about 5 hours last night. Will see when I get home from work. Then like most of us in Minn it looks like a bust until maybe next Tuesday and then 2 weeks of maybe good weather.

Yesterday afternoon one gravity line started puking sap steady. Looks good now weather wise next week, lows in the 20's and highs in the 40's. Just warming up enough final-(the trees and ground).
Vacuum lines should start today .
Some friends in central WI are getting sap now. 500 gallons in the last two days. My gut feel is the next couple of days things should break loose in central MN.
Tom turn on your vacuum and let us know what's going on in ISLE.

Some trees are leaking but not getting enough to get a sense of how well the new sap tank lifters will work. I thought it would have been a good day as it froze pretty good over night. Got to get back to the cities soon as I have a job I scheduled for today and a wake tonight. Back up on the weekend and for most of next week.
Terry, I finally chased down all the leaks and now have the same vac. all the way to the back taps. Now I have to see why the pump got so hot it was burning the oil. It has never got that hot before. I thought the pump house was on fire when I came in from the woods. Anyway, that's for another day.
