-9 in Sandstone this morning.. Cold this week. we are not going to resume tapping till the snow goes below my chin. Could not even get out to get it if it did run.
75-100 bags out now and one gravity line with about 50 on it tapped and ready to go. If it does start we will see it in the barrel.

No change yet. Cold most of this week -4 in the Sandstone area this morning. Oh yea, we had another foot of snow last week.
This week-end it is suppose to warm although the snow still is too deep to get out to pick up bags even if it does. Will hook up around 150 on vacuum this week-end and plow a road to that tank.

Default should be running by Friday

We lucked out on the last 2 snows. Everything we got 2" all gone. Still area 3' deep in woods with very heavy ice topping on it. Nice for walking on top as long as it is only 10 above. Heading South Dakota Spring Goose hunting Thursday and Friday. So if my master plan comes together it will start running Friday and I'll start collecting Saturday..... usually my plans seem to fall part however.. However when it starts gushing out of the trees, we're ready.

Sky carp! I freelanced twice out there, it was a blast. I would get a guide if I ever went again.

Trees are starting to drip--a few of them. We are now waiting till the snow drops to at least 18 inches. Now there is a solid three ft in the woods yet. Can't get to anything if we did tap them all. The plus side you can walk on top with snowshoes. Wait another week and see what happens. Will setup and hookup new ro next week-end.
Here in the cites on my return today the blackbirds are back the robins are singing and the grass where warm is greening.
Sandstone and Finlayson its still the arctic !! From Pine City down fields half bare or better.

A few taps were wet but nothing really happening near Barnum. Lot's of snow. Of my few Ham Lake trees 4 were running well but 3 are still not doing much.

Default Sloooooow

I have 40 taps on boxelder and after 2 days(yesterday and today) I had 10 gallons. Not even worth collecting. They were dripping pretty good at 5:00 pm tonite. Below freezing tonite and upper thirties tomorrow. Same for the next few days. My sugars up the road are not faring any better. We need some heat!

292 taps out and a total of 25 gallons of sap... .I am sure hoping things start going gang busters this next week... Everyone is calling me asking the same thing? "Is the sap running?" So far I have a very simple answer... NOPE!
