Default Maple apple cider

I'm sure this has been done before, but I was just drinking a cup of warm apple cider and dumped some syrup in. Man is that ever good!

We serve Hot Spiced Maple Apple Cider at our open house every year. We also sell it at the Iron Mountain Farmers Market in the fall and Harvest on Hughitt the last Saturday in September, which is just down the road from you.. A big hit!

It would be hard to find something that isn't a little better with maple syrup in it.

A nearby sugarer told me he had a cider customer that had him boil the cider in the maple evaporator untill it was quite thick. I beleive it was an apple spread of some sort, and I got to thinking if it had a little maple in it, it would be that much better.

I've still only had that on ice cream, but I'll accept that challenge.

Well Bob, the results are in...............delicious. Kind of a nutty, spicy, Apple flavor. Huh, that sounds like what Walnut Apple cider should taste like.

Last week I boiled down about a quart of apple cider to about a pint. Then I added about a pint of maple syrup and boiled the whole mixture till it was about 59 brix hot on the hydrometer. It turned out very thick or viscous. Taste was tart with a hint of maple.

now that sounds good.
we offer customers a maple apple cinnamon spread during the fall when harvest time is on their mind. tried different kinds of apples and seems that the cortlands work the best for the spread. it's the only thing my wife will put on her bagel this time of year
