Not sure what you mean about making it with wire? Do you mean with a wire hinge?

Default Bucket lids

I made a bunch of sap bucket lids before using a round lid off of some larger plastic buckets. I cut a little v out of the plastic lid to let the spoil fit in the I drilled a hole in it on each side of the v. Finally I cut up some old wire coat hangers for the wire hinge. I hope this helps, I no longer have any of the lids, so I can't take any pics. Feel free to ask any questions, I might be able to describe it better
