Default Ram Pump

This is the coolest pump I ever seen. There has to be a way to incorporate this into pumping sap to the sugarhouse! Whos going to build one and let us know how it works?
Be sure to watch part 2 as well!!!!

Then here is an explanation as to how it works

When you figure out how to pump the " waste sap " build two and send one to me to test. It appears dumping waste water ( sap ) is the only way to keep the pump primed.

I dont know Stick a pipe on it and plumb it back into the woods tank. Maybe Haynes will build 3 and give both of us 1.

It looks very intriguing...................BUT there has to be a catch. First there has to be a constant wave action to get the pressure pump motion. I think it would work until the wave action stops.
There is no such thing as a perpetual motion machine. If this would work then why not 10 of them and then the water could run a water wheel with a generator with the water entering the lower tank and then back up. I don't believe were getting the whole story in picture. I still haven't seen the whole set up in one picture. Hello myth busters.

I'm with you on the wave action, but it seems like that is created by a water hammer effect, I assume that is created by the use of the 2 check valves.

Jmaryl has is right. Its a hammer effect of sorts. The second link I posted explains its operation. Its no joke I watched video after video of this same concept last night. And yes there are guys running a water wheel off them to power generators and other equipment. Just go to youtube and you can view hundreds of guys using these all over the world. Just need water source with head pressure to drive the pump.

Maybe you could use sap to drive a vacuum pump.

So what I see is a water source that runs down hill and is capable of pumping 1/10 of its self uphill Its cute but how will it work for us. If you have to dump 90% of your sap on the ground to get 10% I don't see the advantage. Remember what hits the ground or into a lower tank wont help you in the future.
