Default Homemade Evaporator

I am currently in progess of building my homemade evaporator and heres a link to the video that i am getting my ideas from -
and i would be making some modifcations and I have firebricks on hand. So does anyone have any suggestions or tips to help me with the project?

I am using 2 full size steam table pans and 2 half size pans

Using a fuel oil barrel in this manner ( laying on its side ) would leave a lot of wasted space for heat to escape with steam pans. We have a member here (70 Buick) who has built a 55 gallon barrel evaporator with two steam pans that looks like it would work much better. With the narrow drum the heat will be concentrated under the pans.
