I was thinking at the beginning of the season when the weather was running hot and cold with small sap runs that it would be a bad season. I did get 250 gallons so Im not disappointed with that. I was hopping for those HOLY CRAP kind of days but they never happened. Part of the problem is perception. When I didn't have an RO 1000 gallons was a HOLY CRAP day. Now when I get 1500 gallons and rip it thru the RO to 16% and boil in 3 hrs I guess I'm forgetting the past and should be thankful.

4 years ago I spent $5800.00 in fuel oil to do $7400.00 worth of syrup

This season I spent $850.00 in fuel oil to do $5500.00 in syrup and I'm feeling like I didn't make money. its all about perception and forgetting what it used to be like.
